Postal Worker Finds Two Small Kids in Road. She’s Horrified When She Sees What They’re Covered In

They Were Alone

Alexander was working her postal shift when she discovered two abandoned children while driving down a small road. “The girls appeared not to have had a bath in several days and appeared to be covered in what looked like feces,” says Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts.

Alexander got out of her car and walked the kids to the sidewalk, and then began to hear music coming from a nearby garage. She walked in and found the children's mother Heather Shelton passed out in a chair, with two pipes and weed next to her.

When police arrived they found another baby in the garage. “The little baby boy’s crib had a used diaper in there that appeared to be there for a while, maybe up to a week,” Counts recalls.

Locked Up

Heather was clearly unfit to raise these children, as the police say it's one of the worst cases they've ever seen. The kids were given to the Department of Human Services, and Heather was locked up. She's being charged for minor endangerment and drug possession.
