9. Gang Plans Murder on Facebook Chat

Now some of us use Facebook chat to communicate with our buddies. Sometimes we even use it for things that we might not want anyone to find out. We might think “Do I really want this to be out there on Facebook? I mean, anyone could find it.”

8. Man Kills Friend, Tweets About it

Jameg Blake and his buddy Kwame Dancy had been insulting each other on Twitter for days. They were both interested in the same woman and decided the best way to handle it would be to mess with each other on social media. Because all women like that. Right?

7. MySpace Photos Make Ex Go Crazy

Remember MySpace? Well we barely do, but it was the hot social media thing until Facebook came along and destroyed it. A girl named Sarah Ludemann was going out with Rachel Wade’s ex-boyfriend, and she kept posting photos of the two them on Myspace, which drove Rachel crazy.

5. Rappers Raps His Murders On MySpace

Richard McCroskey was an aspiring rapper that lived in a town called Farmville, Virginia. Now just the fact that he lived in a town called Farmville would be enough to make him a suspect in a social media murder spree, but McCroskey had to make it easier on everyone.  McCroskey wrote numerous murderous, violent rap songs and posted them to MySpace. This is tacky, but when a bunch of people turned up murdered, including his girlfriend, it obviously made McCroskey suspect number 1.  He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.

4. Teen is Grounded on MySpace, Loses His Mind

For some people, not being allowed to get on your favorite social media site might make you think that life was unfair, and that your parents didn’t understand you. Hughstan Schlicker took it a little bit farther than that. When his dad grounded him from MySpace, he shot him. When writing of the horrible experience of not being allowed on MySpace he said, “I felt like I was stabbed with a knife and it went straight through and no matter how hard I pulled, I couldn’t pull out the knife.” Umm yeah…okay. Dramatic much? Hughstan is now doing 20 years in prison.

3. Woman Changes FB Status to Single, Ex Flips Out

Sarah Richardson decided that she wanted to split up with her husband Edward, and with good reason as obviously he was a complete psycho. She was so sure about wanting to leave him that she even decided to take a big step and changed her Facebook status to “single”. While Edward seemed to be able to handle things up to this point, I mean the two of them were separated after all,  the whole new “single” status was too much for him to handle.  He ended up flipping out and taking her life.

2. Death Caused By Poking

Richard Rovetto made a deadly mistake. What did he do that caused his death? He “poked” Scott Humphrey’s girlfriend on Facebook. Even though Rovetto claimed that he did not know that the woman was going out with Humphrey, he still was punched repeatedly  by Humphrey then fell and hit his head. When his head hit the pavement he died. Humphrey ended up doing over 4 years in prison for manslaughter, where I am sure he felt like an idiot every time he had to tell someone why he was there. No one likes to be poked on Facebook, but sometimes you just have to man up.

1. Man Kills Ex So She Will Stop Posting About How He Owes Child Support

Paying child support always follows a divorce for most men. Mot will pony up without issue; others are too much a deadbeat to offer financial support to their offspring. Adam was one such person. His ex-wife called him out several times on Facebook, angry he wasn’t paying child support as he was ordered to. What happened next is quite tragic. He beat his ex-wife to death with a hammer, leaving his child without a mother.
